For people who have snow in their country. Here is the cool scene. Rakugan snowman with a blue snowflake and a Senbei with confection coating of snowman in more snow! from Kyogashi tsukasa Kotobukidou Ningyocho.

Plum flowers, early spring colour konpetto, Happy face, Sawarabi (early bracken), Daffodils, Pine needles, Kanzesui (whirlpool).

This is the glorious Ohigashi Winter Collection from Kyogashi tsukasa Kotobukidou at Ningyocho. I will soon take each piece out to photograph. They are such works of art, but I will not be able to resist them, I will eat them!

Rape flowers is a sweet mochi with white chocolate centre and light green and yellow powdered rice bits on the outside to evoke the flowering. This soft mochi only kept for a couple weeks.

Candies from Hokkaido made from the fruits of Lonicera caerulea var. emphyllocalyx. My friends got me these from the food section of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. That section features all the regional specialties from different part of Japan.

Candied Yuzu and Yuzu An in a beautiful tiger year porcelain bowl. I picked up this one in Tokyo and now I am serving the yuzu candies for Chinese new year.

Taneya's Kodosampo Kodobuki meaning walking in lake east, luxury in lake est. Thank you to Yasushi San and Hiromi San for this beautiful box of Higashi. The country house with pine trees in the background and camelia and daffodils on the route. Very poetic!

In front of Kurama Station in Kyoto up in the mountain of Kurama is a small wagashi store called Tomondo. They have seasonal wagashi like Yuzu Kohaku and Yuzu Mochi. This is the mochi.

Wagashi 3

Egg Noodles lookalike! This is a Portuguese candies of Namban tradition brought to Japan some 400 years ago, made of egg york and sugar. Now only made by Turuya Hatiman.

This is Guimsuve Marshmallow made of honey and fruit juice, so not really a Japanese candy but a french one but I got it from Takashimaya of Kyoto.
white: passion fruit
red: framboise
yellow: mango
blue: lime
green: green apple
purple: blueberry

The candies are dried confection from Kamakura called Kamakura no irodori.
