Phytocrene palmata botanical illustration is done

Here it is my major work of once a year!
The painting is more graceful and melancholy compared to the one of P. macrophylla.  The inflorescence is longer, but paler with less details.
I still have a small landscape scene of Kebun Raya Bogor with P. macrophylla as subject to paint.  But I think I will start to think about the next design of batik for Batik Komar to make.  It is going to be more different than the last one which is more like painting.  This one, I wanted to have it more like an overall pattern with simple colours, so more universal appeal to Indonesians.

I finally finished this painting started in Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens. I worked on it in Cuc Phuong while I stayed at the Mac Lake and also when I was staying at the Muong Village.
I will write an article about the gardens.

Paintings done 10 years ago




These several paintings were done more than 10 years ago on Aristolochia species. The one in the middle is based on a rare photo and also a drawing of Aristolochia decandra once cultivated in Kebun Raya Bogor. Now the plant is nolonger there.

The 3 different species of Ginger plants are all very beautiful.
A lot of the ginger plants are edible too.

Bogor Swing





A new painting in progress. The vine in Kebun Raya Bogor, which is also a natural swing for kids. I attempted to paint a traditional javanese costume but Batik cloth with mucuna flowers as pattern in Japanese style.
