My Japanese costume
Finally, this is the costume I designed. The Nara styled upper shirt I designed, is made in silk from Vietnam, done by a dress-maker in China who specializes in opera costume. The silk obi (belt) I designed and hand painted in Kyoto under the guidance of Yuzen artist Mr. Ishida. My mom sewed it together and now it is a beautiful costume that I will be wearing in Yogyakarta to watch the Wayang theatre performance.

Wayang Kulit design
This is the new painting I just finished based on Wayang Kulit, the shadow puppet play. Kersna is the name of the character. Originally, all Wayang Kulit puppets are made of buffalo hide parchement, and then painted and gilded with gold foil. This time to Java, I am going to watch how it is done and how the artists paint the delicate design.
