Pruning
I did major pruning of the Magnolia grandiflora and Akebia quinata yesterday. Also tidied up the honeysuckle along the stone fence.
I am tired after that.
I will research on next destination:
either Vietnam or West Malaysia.
In the picture is the edible and fragrant flowers of Akebia quinata 'Alba'.

Borobudur
The buddhist monument is very impressive. I was staying at Monohara Hotel inside the Borobudur Park. So I have access anytime to the monument. I avoided the mid day heat and had a sieta and late afternoon I went up to the monument. Then also I did the sunrise tour, so went up the mnument in the dark before sunrise and sat there and waited the wonderful moment.

Akebia species in Vancouver
I have quite a few Akebia in my garden. There are a few Akebia quinata in the front and back yard. They have nice purple seperate male and female flowers.
Akebia quinata 'rosea' has paler purple to rose colour flowers. Akebia quinata 'Shinobana' has white flowers. Akebia trifoliata has deep deep purple flowers that are almost black.
They are native to Japan and China, and here in Vancouver, they are evergreen and keep their foliage thru winter.
