beautiful gesthouse

I was staying in Wisma Tamu, the gesthouse inside Kebun Raya Cibodas. It was $25 per night, for the room for weekday, as there are no one else in the same gesthouse, I got the 9 bedroom gesthouse for myself, with the most spectacular view of the whole Java. The mist rolled down from the mountain behind me in the afternoon and gently obscure everything until sunset at 6pm and total darkness at 7pm. Sunrise was at 6am and I got this wonderful quiet garden view right in front, and I could open the window of my bedroom to breath in the freshness. It was pure heaven.

I lovee this highland extension of Kebun Raya Bogor. It is even bigger than the bogor garden. It is in the valley between the mountains and with the high elevation, the view is spectacular. The climate here is cool and night can be cold.

It is a huge vine with flowers and fruits all through the year directly on the old woody stems. The fruits have stinging hairs but insects love the fuits and the seeds.

Bogor is the rain city. It rained everyday when I was there in March. Sunny in the morning until 2pm, then it will be very strong wind and then thunderstorm and heavy pouring rain.
I love the botanical garden there, and took me 2 days to walk around and photographed the plants and then I took another 2 days to paint a special plant called Phytocrene macrophylla.
Here is me with the plant and it does look impressive.
